What a great story and important reminder, Charlie. I try not to listen to "Falling Slowly" unless I'm really in need of a good cry ... Too poignant! I was ushered last-minute into a screening of Once at the SF Int'l in 2007, with Hansard live and in person, by a friend who would, as it turned out, also die far too young (at 50...). Years later, my nephew would star in a national tour of Once, The Musical....
Wow! He touched so many lives. Only the good die young. I will continue to watch Once for years to come, saving the soundtrack for the moments when I need it.
